Hey friends! I want to talk about something that's really close to my heart: art therapy and therapeutic art. I've always been fascinated by the way that creating art can transform our lives, and since studying psychology, I have become more and more interested in combining my passions to help others.

Because my mom is an artist, art has always been a part of my life (and music, but that’s another story) and a way to express myself, to tap into my emotions. And I'm not alone - countless people have discovered the healing power of art, using it to navigate complex emotions, find relief from stress, and boost their overall wellness. I've been thinking a lot about the difference between therapy and something that's simply therapeutic. For me, it's all about intention and expertise.

When I'm creating art, I know that it can be super therapeutic - it helps me relax, express myself, and tap into my emotions. But I also know that there's a big difference between making art for fun and using it as a form of therapy. The key difference is that therapy requires a licensed clinician - someone who's trained in psychology and knows how to use art to help people work through their emotions and challenges. Art therapy is more than just making art - it's about using the creative process to access and process deep-seated feelings, and to develop coping skills.

Making art can be super beneficial for our mental health, and it's something that I encourage everyone to try. But, if you're struggling with serious emotional or psychological issues, it's essential to work with a licensed art therapist who can provide guidance and support. To read more on the differences, I found an interesting blog which you can read here.

At Costanza Creations, we focus on Therapeutic Art…and just to get you excited, I’ll be sharing some of the amazing benefits of therapeutic art in my next blog. Whether you're an artist or not, I hope that this post will inspire you to explore the healing power of art for yourself. So, let's dive in and discover the magic of art together!
